About Anaïs Verny

I am a performance psychologist specializing in helping high performers execute under pressure when results, selection, and reputation are on the line.

My core work is in elite sport, particularly competitive golf, where execution under pressure and scrutiny are constant.

The same psychological principles I apply with athletes are also used to support executives, leaders, speakers, artists and individuals operating on high-visibility stages.

While the arenas differ, the demands are the same: regulated attention, a regulated nervous system, a stable identity, and execution that holds when it matters most.

What a Performance Psychologist does

A performance psychologist helps individuals perform at their best. We focus on the mind, attention, and emotional regulation so skills and preparation can shine under pressure. Whether you’re competing in sport, performing on stage, or making high-stakes decisions, performance psychology trains you to stay present, confident, and consistent, even in challenging situations.

My Work

I work with individuals who are already capable, prepared, and driven, but whose performance does not consistently translate under pressure. My role is to identify exactly what breaks down under stress and train the psychological skills that allow execution to remain stable in competitive and evaluative environments.

My work focuses on:

• Regulating the nervous system

• Training attention and decision-making in highstake moments

• Building grounded and stable confidence

• Separating identity from outcomes so performance is not fear-driven

• Developing mental routines that can be relied on under pressure

• Training recovery and composure after mistakes and performance disruptions

This is applied, performance-driven psychology tailored to each client’s goals.

Who I work with

I work with high performers whose results depend on execution under pressure, including:

• Competitive athletes in individual sports (Mainly Golf, Tennis and boxing)

• Executives and leaders operating in highstakes decisionmaking environments

• Speakers, performers, and individuals regularly evaluated in public arenas

• Pageant competitors and candidates preparing for high visibility, judgement based stages.

Background & Credibility

I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology, with specialized training in evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These frameworks strongly inform my performance psychology work, particularly in areas such as attention control, cognitive flexibility, emotional regulation, and value-driven performance under pressure.

I have trained and competed in golf competitively for over 10 years, giving me firsthand experience of the psychological demands of competition and performance slumps. This allows me to work with golfers not only from theory, but from inside the performance experience itself.

In addition to sport, I have experience performing on high-visibility, judgment-based stages through pageants, television, and public appearances. Being evaluated in real time on performance, presence, and composure has deeply shaped my understanding of pressure, identity, and nervous system responses under evaluation.

My work draws from:

• Performance psychology and applied sport psychology

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

• Nervous system regulation science

• Established models of identity and self-regulation in elite performance

Performance Psychology vs Therapy

While I am trained in psychology, my performance work is not mental health treatment.

Performance psychology is focused on execution, and supporting high-functioning individuals to perform reliably under pressure in competitive and evaluative environments.

When deeper clinical work is appropriate, I recognize that and can support that process as needed.

Philosophy

Confidence is built through evidence and repetition.
Pressure is not the enemy; mismanaged attention is.
A regulated nervous system allows skill to execute under stress.
Consistent results come from following a proven process, not chasing and attaching to outcomes.

I help clients build systems they trust so they can execute automatically under pressure.

This is highlevel 1:1 performance psychology coaching, delivered online to clients globally. This work is for dedicatedathletes, high performers, and artists.
